Your First Visit
What should I expect at my first appointment at Vista Beauty Bar?
Every first visit starts with a proper consult: skin type, hair history, brow goals, what you do (and don't) want maintained. We map the service around that. Most first appointments run 60 to 180 minutes depending on what you book.
Who will be doing my treatment?
Julie Walker founded Vista and looks after skin, facials, brows and permanent makeup. Massage is with Tricia Pimental, our licensed massage therapist, and a visiting acupuncture and meditation practitioner works from the studio twice a month. Whoever you see, your appointment is unhurried and built around you.
How should I prepare for my first facial, colour or brow appointment?
For a facial, come with clean skin and skip retinol or strong actives for a few days beforehand. For colour, arrive with your hair as-is (day-old is fine) and bring any inspiration photos. For brows or permanent makeup, avoid caffeine, alcohol and blood thinners the day of, and skip brow waxing or tinting first. Not sure? Ask when you book and we'll guide you.
How far in advance should I book at Vista Beauty Bar?
In season, roughly November to April, the Keys fill up and the studio books one to two weeks ahead, especially for weekends, colour and permanent makeup. Off-season you can often get in within a few days. For a set date like a wedding or a milestone, the earlier the better.
Skin & Facials
What facials and skin treatments do you offer?
Four custom-blended facials: Vista's Signature anti-aging facial, the Vista Escape destress facial, and dedicated rosacea/sensitive-skin and acne/teen facials, each with a cleanse, deep exfoliation, facial and neck massage, masks, serums and SPF. We also offer targeted skin treatments: derma planing, micro-needling, LED light therapy, cryo globes, gua sha lymphatic massage and an exfoliating body scrub. All built on clean, organic-led products chosen for Florida sun-loving skin.
Which facial is right for my skin type?
That's exactly what the consult is for. Sensitive or rosacea-prone skin starts with our calming Rosacea/Sensitive facial, breakout-prone or teen skin leans toward the deep-cleansing Acne/Teen facial, stressed or tired skin loves the Vista Escape, and our Signature facial is a custom-blended anti-aging treatment for most skin types. We read your skin in person and build from there, never a one-size template.
How often should I get a facial?
Skin renews on roughly a four to six week cycle, so a facial every four to six weeks keeps results steady. If you're targeting a specific concern like acne, texture or pigment, we may start closer together, then space out once your skin settles. Even one seasonal facial helps, especially after a summer of Keys sun and salt.
Are your facials suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. Our Rosacea/Sensitive Skin facial is built specifically to calm inflammation and reduce irritants, and every facial is custom-blended to what your skin can handle that day. We assess your skin first and adjust products and pressure to suit. If something isn't right for you, we'll say so and suggest a gentler option.
What is a head spa treatment?
A customized scalp ritual: cleansing and conditioning paired with scalp, neck and pressure-point massage. Choose a 30-minute reset ($75) or the full 60-minute experience ($150). It pairs beautifully with a facial, a colour appointment or a massage.
Hair & Colour
What hair services do you offer?
Precision cuts for women, men and children, beard work, blowouts and formal styling, plus colour, glaze, highlight/lowlight (full or partial), double process, smoothing and deep-moisturizing treatments and permanent wave. Every service is shaped around your hair's texture, length and colour history.
How long does a colour or balayage appointment take?
Plan on two to four hours for most colour work. A single-process colour or root touch-up runs shorter, while full highlights, balayage or a colour correction take longer, especially on long or dark hair. We confirm timing at your consult so your day is easy to plan around.
Do you cut and colour curly or textured hair?
Yes. We work across every texture, length and colour history, from tight curls to fine straight hair. Cuts are shaped to how your hair actually falls and moves, not forced into one technique.
How do I keep my colour from fading in the Florida sun and salt water?
Sun, chlorine and salt are hard on colour, so we set you up to protect it: sulphate-free organic colour care, a rinse after the beach or pool, a hat on big sun days, and a glaze or gloss between visits to refresh tone. We'll tailor a simple routine to your colour before you leave.
How long does keratin smoothing last?
Most keratin smoothing treatments hold for three to five months, softening frizz and cutting your styling time right through humid Keys summers. A sulphate-free, sodium-chloride-free wash at home makes it last longer. Keratin smoothing starts from $350.
Brows & Permanent Makeup
What's the difference between ombré powder brows and microblading?
Microblading uses fine hair-stroke cuts to mimic individual brow hairs, best for a natural, hair-like finish. Ombré powder brows use a soft shading technique for a fuller, makeup-finished look. We'll recommend the best option for your skin and goal during your consult.
How long does brow microblading or permanent makeup last?
Microblading and ombré powder brows typically last one to three years, with a touch-up around the 6–8 week mark to set the result. How long it holds depends on your skin type and sun exposure, which is a real factor here in the Keys.
Does microblading or permanent makeup hurt?
Most clients describe it as mild scratching or pressure, not sharp pain. We use a topical numbing cream before and during, and check in with you throughout. Everyone's tolerance is different, and we work at a pace that keeps you comfortable.
How do I care for my brows while they heal?
Healing takes about one to two weeks. Keep the area clean and dry, skip heavy sweat, swimming, saunas and direct sun, and don't pick or scratch as it flakes. Use any aftercare balm we give you as directed. Your colour looks bold at first, then softens as it settles, which is exactly why we schedule a touch-up around 6 to 8 weeks.
Am I a good candidate for permanent makeup?
Most healthy adults are. Permanent makeup isn't recommended if you're pregnant or nursing, or with certain skin conditions or medications, so we go over your history at the consult first. If it's not the right fit, we'll tell you honestly and suggest an alternative.
Massage, Waxing & Nails
Do you offer waxing and massage too?
Yes. Relaxation and therapeutic massage, brow/lip/facial waxing and permanent makeup all live alongside the skin, facials and hair menu. Many clients book a skin-and-hair pair so the whole visit lands in one trip.
Do you offer manicures and pedicures?
Yes. Manicures from $35 and pedicures from $65, finished to last in the salt air. A favourite before Keys weddings, milestones and special occasions.
Can I book more than one service in the same visit?
Absolutely, and many clients do. Pairing a facial with a head spa, or colour with a manicure, means the whole visit lands in one relaxed trip instead of several. Let us know what you'd like to combine when you book so we can set aside enough time.
Our Organic Approach
What makes Vista Beauty Bar an "organic" beauty bar?
We build every service on certified organic, clean-formulation products chosen for sensitive skin and Keys humidity, never the cheapest shelf option. Our skin and retail lines include Eminence Organic Skin Care, and our colour and hair care is NatuLique certified organic. Fewer chemicals, cleaner and longer-lasting results.
What product lines do you use, and can I buy them to take home?
Our skincare is Eminence Organic Skin Care and our colour and hair care is NatuLique certified organic, both chosen for sensitive skin and Keys humidity. Yes, you can buy the ones we use so your results carry on at home. We only ever recommend what actually suits your skin or hair, never an upsell.
Are your products safe to use during pregnancy?
Our clean, organic-led lines are a big reason expectant clients choose Vista, and we happily adjust services to keep them pregnancy-friendly. Some treatments, like certain permanent makeup and strong actives, we hold off on until after. Always tell us at booking, and check with your doctor if you're unsure.

Send an enquiry through the contact page, or call or text (305) 504-3825. We're open Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 12pm, closed Sundays. In season, slots fill quickly, so a little notice helps.
What is your cancellation policy?
